The Clare county board has given their hurling manager Mike McNamara (pictured middle) their full backing despite growing opposition from some players. His tenure was discussed at a board meeting last night, after a number of players had asked for an unsigned letter requesting his dismissal to be read out during the meeting reports RTE. However, the county board confirmed their faith in the Scariff native, who will take charge of the county for a third season next year.
