Mid West Mayors And Cathaoirligh Meet To Discuss Aer Lingus Job Cuts

Thursday, October 29, 2009 | posted in , , , , | 0 comments

The Mayors and Cathaoirligh of the Mid-West Local and Regional Authorities will tomorrow meet to develop a regional response to the recent announcement by Aer Lingus of pending job losses within the company at Aras Contae An Chlair, New Road, Ennis.

Earlier this month, the airline informed staff about proposals to remove the company’s US base at Shannon Airport with the loss of 102 cabin crew jobs as part of a new survival plan. Aer Lingus also aims to end the direct Shannon-New York route early in 2010, while ground crew at the airport will also face reduced hours.
