The wife of the late Limerick author Frank McCourt has described the unveiling of a bust in his memory as a 'wonderful tribute'.
len McCourt told a public gathering outside Leamy's National School, McCourt’s former school on Hartstonge Street in Limerick City, that she could not think of a more fitting location for the bust to be located. The bust was created by Clare-sculptor Seamus Connolly.
Family and friends of the ‘Angela’s Ashes’ author were among the hundreds of people who attended today;s ceremony. They included McCourt’s siblings Alphie, Michael and Malachy, as well as his widow, Ellen.
