Clare musicians are encouraged to tune up their instruments this week as ‘Trad for Trócaire’ kicks off on Thursday, 23rd September and runs until Wednesday, 29th September.
Trad for Trócaire, a week-long celebration of traditional Irish music run by Trócaire and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, is seeking Clare musicians, venues and music fans to raise the roof while raising money for Trócaire, by organising or supporting a local seisiún.
Local musicians will be holding sessions in Dillon's Bar & Restaurant on September 25th at 21:30, Cois na hAbhna on September 26th at 16:00 and Teach Cheoil Kilrush on September 24th at 22:00. They are asking people from Clare to support their local session.
Launching Trad for Trócaire week Justin Kilcullen, Director of Trócaire said: “This week Trad for Trócaire will capture the unique spirit of the Irish; our passion for music and our strong history of standing up against injustice and poverty overseas. There’ll be ceol, craic and song throughout Clare filling pubs and homes to the rafters.
