The acclaimed Kilfenora Ceili Band will be performing a charity concert at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience to raise funds for the RNLI Lifeboats on Friday 15th October at 8pm.

The band which are 101 years old in 2010 have been hailed as living legends of Irish music and have performed all over the world.  However, this is the first time that the band have performed at the world famous Cliffs of Moher a stones throw from their home in Kilfenora.

“We’re always delighted to come home to North Clare to play in our own place and there could be no better cause than the Lifeboats whose volunteers put themselves at risk on a daily basis.” Said John Lynch leader of Kilfenora Ceili Band .

The concert will take place in the two hundred seat Ledge Theatre inside the underground visitor centre building at the Cliffs of Moher.  The theatre forms part of the Cliffs Exhibition which is housed in the centre of the subterranean centre.

Katherine Webster, Director of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience, is excited at the prospect of the performance.  “The Kilfenora Ceili Band are renowned all over the world and it will be wonderful to see them performing here at the Cliffs.  It will be a meeting of musical wonders with a natural wonder.”

Tickets for the concert are on sale at Record Rack in Ennis (065n 6820769) or from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre (065 7086141) priced €25.  Advance booking is essential.  All proceeds raised  will go towards the RNLI Lifeboats.
