Kevin Burke Is 'Coming Back To Miltown'

US-based trad fiddler Kevin Burke is coming to Clare next Wednesday for a night of music not to be missed.

Kevin recently released a new album with guitarist and co-producer Cal Scott entitled 'Suite'. The album features the Irish Session Suite with classical musicians and guest performance from young trad group Beoga.

This trip will see Kevin performing solo in Dublin, Cork, Galway and at Sligo Live festival.

The Clare show is on Wednesday 20th October at The Markethouse Theatre, Miltown Malbay. Tickets €15 from 087 688 1650.

Born in London to Sligo parents, Kevin took up the fiddle at age eight, eventually acquiring a virtuosic technique in the Sligo fiddling style. He later became a member of the well known Irish traditional music groups The Bothy Band (in 1976) and Patrick Street (in 1986).

He settled in Portland, Oregon in 1979. has played as a longstanding member of the Celtic Fiddle Festival since their inception in the early 1990's.  He was a 2002 winner of the National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship.

He currently lives in Portland with his wife and two children.
