Ennis Trad Festival 2011 Draws To A Close

The Ennis Trad Festival concludes today after four days of top quality Irish Traditional music sessions throughout the Clare County capital.
Up to 25,000 have visited Ennis since Friday, with one of the main attractions being Ard Gaisce na mBuíonta, an innovative competition for senior céilí bands. 14 bands participated in The Great Céilí Band Challenge which had a prize fund of €8,000.
Headline acts over the weekend included NicGaviskey, Dervish, The Raw Bar Collective Joe Burke, Eileen O'Brien and Arty McGlynn.
Meanwhile, there were 10 CD launches at this year's Ennis Trad Festival. Musicians featured included Andrew MacNamara, Dan Brouder, Tara Connaghan, Derek McGinley, Brian Friel and Denis Liddy.
