The 49th Doonbeg Drama Festival drew to a close this evening in the West Clare village hall after four days of performances from as many drama groups.
Performances included ‘The Playboy of the Western World’ (Ennis Players), ‘I Do Not Like Thee, Dr. Fell’ (Compantas Lir of Galway), Pied a Terre’ (Brideview Drama Players of Waterford) and King of the Castle’ (Kilmeen Drama Group of Cork).
As the curtains fall on this year’s festival, which is one of 40 such festivals held throughout Ireland every year, plans were alreadybeing put in place for the milestone 50th annual festival in 2011.
