Clare County Council announced today that it is extending the deadline for receipt of submissions in relation to the emerging Preferred Route Corridor for Phase 2 of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.

Clare County Council has announced it will host a public consultation event on the proposed Doolin Pier development in Hotel Doolin on Wednesday, January 25th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Mr. Phil Hogan, T.D., today (Friday, 20 January 2012) congratulated Limerick County Council on reducing its energy consumption by 45%.

Loop Head Lighthouse will reopen to the public later this year following a successful trial scheme that resulted in an estimated 17,000 people visiting the historic west Clare landmark during an 11-week period in 2011.

The emerging Preferred Route Corridor for Phase 2 of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road will be presented at a public consultation in the Radisson Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick, on Wednesday, 18th January 2012, from 3-8 PM. 

Newly released figures show that the Clare Motor Tax Office issued a total of 126,600 tax discs during 2011.  The figures represent a 7% decrease in the total number (135,800) of tax discs issued during 2010.

Clare County Council this week launched its annual recycling campaign to urge householders to spare a thought for the environment this year while enjoying all the seasonal festivities.
