The Clare County Enterprise Board has not been included in a funding package announced today for the country’s network of county and city enterprise boards (CEBs).
The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen TD, announced a €3.3 million fund which will be paid out before the end of the year creating more than 450 jobs. It is understood, however, that the Clare CEB did not apply for funding in the current tranche.
The stimulus will be channelled through the CEBs to help new businesses get off the ground and support existing ones in creating and protecting jobs. The Taoiseach said the extra money announced today would support new business projects this year and create hundreds of jobs.
However, Clare along with Cork North, Cork West , Kerry, Kildare, Laois, Mayo, Tipperary North, Waterford County and the Taoiseach’s own Offaly constituency were omitted from the funding list. 24 other enterprise boards received funding including Galway which received 425,000 euro.
