Up to 25 leading executives from US Silicon Valley technology companies are heading to Limerick this November for the third annual “Silicon Valley Comes to Ireland” event.
Shannon Development will be supporting a gala dinner during the event with guest speaker Dr. Craig Barrett, former Chairman of Intel Corporation and Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) Chairman.
Commenting on the significance of the event Dr. Vincent Cunnane, Chief Executive, Shannon Development said; “Shannon Development is delighted to have secured this prestigious event for Limerick and the Shannon Region. will see US experts from ITLG Silicon Valley based companies meeting with and mentoring Irish companies in a series of workshops in Limerick and Galway. We are delighted of be working with our partners ITLG, the University of Limerick and NUI Galway on the event which runs from the 15th to the 17th November this year.”
The ITLG is a 600-strong network of Irish and US senior executives in Silicon Valley who are committed to ensuring that Ireland remains not only attractive for mobile investment by US technology giants but also that Irish entrepreneurs can grow global businesses.
During the Irish event companies from all over the country will be given an opportunity to come face to face with a delegation of technology CEO’s and venture capitalists from Silicon Valley for an intensive review of each company and its business plan.
The first day of the event, on the 15th of November, will see the Silicon Valley experts meet 12 early-stage and scaling companies for a Dragon’s Den-style workshop. The companies will present pitches with a view to receiving mentoring and feedback. It is possible that they may also receive investment from the venture capitalists who will be present.
