West Clare Gaels and The Banner will contest the 2010 Senior Ladies Football final after they both recorded semi-final victories in a double header played in Doonbeg at the weekend.
The first semi-final saw West Clare Gaels see off the challenge of Kilmihil by 2-8 to 2-5. Maria Kelly and Katie Geoghan got the Gaels goals with Kilmihil having their goals courtesy of Ailish Considine and Maria Keane.
The second semi final saw The Banner Ladies defeat Cooraclare (4-9 to 1-5). The winners had their goals thanks to Niamh O'Dea, Naomi Carroll and Megan Haugh. Cooraclare full forward Niamh Chambers got her sides goal.
The final will take place at Cooraclare on Saturday evening. The Banner are going for their thrid title in a row and will start as favourites with the likes of Emma O'Driscoll, Sarah Hoey, Michelle Delaney, Louise Henchy, Niamh O'Dea and Niamh Keane in their side. However, they can expect a battle from West Clare Gaels who are aiming to creat history as they go in search of a first ever senior championship. Their most experienced player is Majella Griffin with other key players in the form of the Kelly's (Maria and Sinead), Katie Geoghan, Brid Troy and Rita Boland.
