Corofin And Newmarket In Munster Camogie Action‏

Corofin will hope to claim Munster honours this Saturday in Cashel as they take on Waterford side Cappoquin in the Munster Junior camogie final.

The north Clare girls won the Intermediate crown this year by defeating Truagh/Clonlara in the final (2-6 to 0-4). They will hope to bring the cup back to Corofin with players such as Marie Rafferty, Claire Commane, Aoife Davoren, Niamh O’Dea, Edel Keating and Muireann Kelleher in their side.

Cappoquin, the Waterford junior champions, will provide stiff opposition for the north Clare ladies however hopes are high Corofin will clinch the honours.

Meanwhile, on Sunday at Newmarket the home side will play Mallow from Cork in the Intermediate camogie semi final in what promises to be a busy weekend for the “Blues”.

Last Saturday they won the senior title with an impressive defeat of Kilmaley and face two games this weekend.

On Saturday they will take on Moyle Rovers from Tipperary in the Munster Junior ladies football final. A number of players feature for both sides with the likes of Ruth, Iris and Niki Kaiser, Sharon McMahon, Jane O’Leary and Aimee McInerney expected to be in their side on Sunday.

They will be up against a good side in Cork Intermediate champions Mallow but should qualify for a place in the final.
