Doora Barefield And Kilmurry Ibrickane Clash In Minor Semi Final Replay

Sports - Gaelic Games

The minor footballers of St. Joseph's Doora/Barefield and Kilmurry-Ibrickane will have to do it all again after playing out an exciting draw in their semi final clash last weekend.

Kilmurry led towards the end of the game thanks to a Niall Hickey goal that sent them one clear before Cathal Duggan was the Doora/Barefield savour as his point near the end tied the teams. Extra time was played but at the end of this the scores were still level (0-11 v 2-5). Seamus Lynch got the other 'Bricks goal in the first half.

The replay will take place again this Sunday with players such as Niall Hickey, Graham Johnson, Seamus Lynch and Daragh Sexton (Kilmurry-Ibrickane) along with Cathal and Leo Duggan, Ja Colleran and Niall DeLoughrey (Doora/Barefield) in action.

Meanwhile the other semi final saw Clondegad fail to show for their clash with Ennistymon on Sunday in Quilty. Referee Gerry Corry threw in the ball and Ennistymon got the walkover.

As it stands Ennistymon are through to the final but it is expected Clondegad will launch an appeal. They did not wish to play the match on the Sunday due to a number of their team being involved in their Intermediate team who on the day before (Saturday) lost out to St. Breckan's in the final.
