A total of 13 Irish players are included in the field for the Amateur Championship which gets underway next Monday 14th June at Muirfield & North Berwick Golf Clubs.
The GUI has sent six players to the event, namely Paul Cutler (Portstewart), Alan Dunbar (Rathmore), Paul Dunne (Greystones), Luke Lennox (Moyola Park), Connor Doran (Banbridge) and Dara Lernihan (Castle).
The other seven Irish to make the cut are recent East of Ireland Champion Cian Curley (Newlands), James Fox (Portmarnock), Andrew Hogan (Newlands), Nicholas Grant (Knock), West of Ireland Champion Rory Leonard (Banbridge), reigning South of Ireland Champion Robert Cannon (Laytown & Bettystown) and Paul O'Kane (Moyola Park).
The 115th Amateur Championship will take place at Muirfield and North Berwick golf clubs on 14-19 June. 288 players will play two rounds of stroke play, one each at Muirfield and North Berwick, before 64 players and ties progress to the match play rounds beginning on Wednesday at Muirfield. A place at the 150th Anniversary Open Championship and the 2011 Masters Tournament are on offer for the 2010 Champion.
