Clare jockey Kieren Fallon is unlikely to be available to ride Hawkeyethenoo, the well-backed second favourite for tomorrow's Ayr Gold Cup.
The Ballinruan man is instead expected to be sent to Newbury by his main employer, Luca Cumani.
Jim Goldie, trainer of the 8-1 shot, told The Guardian newspaper that he has kept Hawkeyethenoo under wraps since the four-year-old won a valuable race at York in July, with Fallon aboard. The hope is that he can become the Ayr race's first Scottish-trained winner since 1975.
Fallon's agent, Gareth Owen, confirmed that the jockey was expected at Newbury to parner Forte Dei Marmi in a handicap that often serves as a Camebridgeshire trial.
