Horse Trainer To Attend Special Hearing Into Fallon Altercation

Sports - Horse Racing

A British horse owner will appear before the British Horseracing Authority today in connection with an altercation he had with Clare jockey Kieren Fallon at Lingfield 10 days ago.

David Reynolds is scheduled to appear at the hearing after he was formally charged on Friday with two breaches of the rules of racing in relation to the incident, which took place following the Sportingbet Support Heros "Super 7" Handicap.

David Reynolds, joint-owner of beaten favourite The Scorching Wind, has admitted to striking Fallon while the six-times Champion jockey was unsaddling his horse Elna Bright following the second race of the day.  Reynolds is said to have been angered by the Ballinruan jockey's scrimmaging with The Scorching Wind during the race.  Reynolds was escorted from the track by security guards and stewards launched an inquiry immediately after the incident.
