Munster Come Up Trumps At Fortress Thomond Park

Sports - Rugby

Munster cruised to an emphatic win over French side Toulon at Thomond Park this afternoon.

Tries from Denis Leamy, Tony Buckley, Doug Howlett (2), Mick O'Driscoll and James Coughlan handed Munster a 45-18 win and secured Tony McGahan’s side a valuable bonus point.

Toulon’s scores came courtesy of tries from Jean-Philippe Genevois and skipper Joe van Niekerk, and a long-range drop-goal from second half substitute Jonny Wilkinson.

Munster now sit top of Pool Three in the Heineken Cup.

Ospreys defeated London Irish in the other Pool game last night.
