It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Clare junior soccer sides as six out of the ten local sides in action crashed out of the F.A.I Junior Cup.
Rock Rovers’ excellent season continued as they overcame Newcastlewest Rovers of the Desmond League 4-1 to progress to the third round.
Avenue United had an impressive 2-0 away win against Classic of Tralee and Kilkishen Celtic defeated premier side Lifford 1-0, Bunratty accounted for Bridge Celtic 2-0.
Bridge United went down 3-1 at home to Killarney Celtic, Abbeyfeale United easily overcame Sporting Ennistymon 8-0, Kilcolman Rovers scraped past Corofin Harps 2-1, and Killeaney Athletic came out on top in a eight goal thriller against Shannon Olympic winning 5-3.
