Sligo And Shelbourne Prepare For Cup Final
They have had their media days this week – now both Sligo Rovers and Shelbourne can fully focus on Sunday's highlight of the domestic football calendar.
With confidence emerging from either camp that success can be achieved in Sunday's FAI Ford Cup final, the occasion at Aviva Stadium (3.30pm) promises to be a superb spectacle.
There are parallels in the clubs' respective campaigns. FAI Ford cup holders Sligo Rovers missed out on the Premier Division title to Shamrock Rovers while Cork City edged out Shels for the First Division crown in Saturday's decider at Tolka Park.
It's the first time in eleven years that Shels have reached the showpiece, yet Sunday will be Sligo's third big day out in a row.
Fans attending on Sunday can expect both teams to play the attractive brand of football they've became credited for this term.
